Living in the Glory of the New Covenant

Through the New Covenant, Jesus has given us an invaluable treasure house of resurrection life and blessing, and the promise of a deep, abiding friendship with God – but do we live in the fulness of His glory?

Living in the Glory of the New Covenant will give you the biblical steps – the simple steps – to make Living in New Covenant Glory a daily reality in your life.

Old Covenant Glory

Under the Old Covenant Glory, God’s Presence dwelt in the Tabernacle and the Temple. God’s Shekinah Glory dwelt in the Holy of Holies above the Mercy Seat. The High Priest could only approach this glory once and year and he had to bring blood. Everyone else was forbidden to come in and a curtain hung in front of it and no one could enter. Yet ,God’s Presence dwelling in the midst of the nation of Israel generated life and blessing for the nation.

The Queen of Sheba came to visit Solomon after he built the temple. The nation of Israel, Solomon’s kingdom, his wisdom, and the glory of the temple was so exquisite, she marked, “The half of this glory was not told to me.”

New Covenant Glory

While the Old Covenant Glory was mind-blowing to the surrounding nations, Paul tells us it was bondage and death compared to the exceeding glory of the New Covenant. When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was ripped from top to bottom signifying that the way had been opened into the Holiest of All for all God’s redeemed to come in.

The great glory of the New Covenant is that now, The Spirit of God – The Shekinah Glory of God, instead of dwelling in the Tabernacle and the Temple, now dwells in a temple not made without hands. When Paul saw the carnality of the Corinthian church he attributed it to one overarching problem. He asked, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of God.” That was the source of all their failures and problems.

But do we have this realization? Do we really believe this? Do we live like we know this is so, not from self effort, or blind faith, but do we live the resurrection life of power, energy, and overwhelming glory because of the Presence of God we experience every day?

Well, the good news is we can. God is nearer than our breath, closer than our hands and feet. Our heart is His sanctuary under New Covenant Glory but do we experience this?

The Question

Do you know Jesus’ Presence as a living reality in your daily life or are you still praying to God up in heaven or out there somewhere?

Jesus told His disciples before His crucifixion and resurrection, “The Holy Spirit, you know him. He dwells with you but He shall dwell in you.”( John 14:17) This simple scripture alone tells you all you need to know about the difference between Old Covenant and New Covenant Glory.

Have you experienced the daily reality of this blessing. St Augustine said, “I spent a lot of time seeking god out there when He was in my heart all the time. “ Your heart his his sanctuary, your body is His temple.

This is the great glory of the New Covenant – that the power may be of God and not of ourselves. He is the hand we are the glove and not only that Jesus said,“If anyone’s thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.” ( John 7:37-38)John tells us that Jesus spoke this of the Holy Spirit which had yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

George Muller, 19th century evangelist, teacher and intercessor noted:

“If an invaluable treasure is here reserved for the believers, why should I not receive my portion of it? Our difficulty is this: the promises are so “exceedingly great” that we cannot conceive God really to mean what He clearly appears to have revealed. The Blessing seems too vast for our comprehension; we stagger at the promises through unbelief and thus fail to secure the treasure which was purchased for us by Christ Jesus.”

Read Living in the Glory of the New Covenant and learn how to live in a greater awareness and realization of New Covenant Glory.
